What's in the bag?

Each Wednesday and Thursday we play What's in the bag as part of our oral language programme. We love to play What's in the bag as we get to learn about what is special to our friends. We have to ask open or closed questions to try and guess the special object in the bag. So far Marion has bought a rosette, Brody bought in a special blanket from when he was little, Gage bought in a little doggy which he cant sleep without and Mrs Skelton-Morris bought in her precious green stone. Examples of some of our questions: Where is it from? Is it a toy? What colour is it? Can you play with it? What shape is it? Is it something you can read? What is it made out of? Is it a book with no words? Is it special to you? Can you open it? What is it made of?

Today we started our maths programme.  We set up our Number of the day!  We learned that numbers 1, 2, 3, and 4 round DOWN!  Numbers 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 round UP!

For example number 6 would round up to 10.  Number 3 would round down to 0.  Number 5 (is tricky and sneaky) he rounds up to 10!

Mrs Morris' first day in Room 18!

Today we learned that in a fire we will walk out of the class and line up on the grass outside Room 19.  The teacher will then call the roll to check we are all safe.  If there is an earthquake we will drop, cover and hold.  If you are close to a desk, get under cover quickly.  If you are not, then cover your head with your hands (turtle).

Happy 7th birthday Cleveland a happy birthday to Brody, Gus and Jayvon who celebrated their birthdays in the holidays!
