We have been learning about Matariki.  We learnt that Matariki is when seven stars can be seen in the night sky, this signifies Maori New Year.  During Matariki people celebrate by coming together to celebrate by singing waiata and dancing, sharing stories, kai and much more.  We were lucky to have Tracy come in to share the myth of Matariki with us.  We also made stars our of harakeke.  We have been learning a variety of waiata, made poi and will be learning some tradtional rakau games this week.
